One incident record per event. Five people killed in one airstrike are five killed_in edges to a single node — never five duplicated stories. Every automatic classification carries the rule that produced it, and the interface can always show why.

A theme is not a folder. Nothing is filed under Medicide or Domicide by hand: a record enters a layer when the relationships in the graph satisfy the rule for that layer, and every membership carries the rule that produced it. Medicide is the archive's first deliverable — the layer built to prove the method — not the whole of what is being documented.
The category under which the other layers are read together: acts committed with intent to destroy a group, in whole or in part.
